Quality, Customized Monuments

Monuments and headstones are everlasting. Parmer Monument & Stone understands the importance of memorialization. They tell who we are and where we come from, so finding the right one is exceptionally important. We offer a wide selection of monuments in various styles and materials so you can find the best one for your loved one.

Monument Styles

Many cemeteries have specific restrictions on the monuments allowed. Please read and understand the guidelines before purchasing yours.

Monuments can be created in a wide range of styles, colors and materials.

  • Flat or Flush Style Monuments - As you can probably tell, this style of monument rests very low, or flush to the ground. There are some cemeteries that require this type of monument to be used for both a uniform appearance as well as ease of mowing.
  • Bevel Monuments - Much like the flat style monuments, beveled monuments rest low to the ground, but are slanted or beveled slightly for ease of finding and reading.
  • Upright Monuments - This style of monument utilizes a large front face (or tablet), and are a good choice for long, engraved inscriptions or flourishes. The large tablet size also makes it easier to locate in a cemetery.
  • Slanted Monuments - Slanted monuments are a form of upright monument that slants upward for ease of reading. These also feature a large tablet for inscriptions.
  • Cremation Monuments - This type of monument includes a small space (or niche) to permanently house the ashes of the departed. These niches are above ground and sealed from the elements.
  • Bench Monument - Often used as a memorial as well as a grave marker, bench monuments are often seen as a comforting place to sit peacefully and reflect on memories shared.

Monument Materials

Parmer Monument & Stone can help you decide what monument material best suits your needs.

Many different types of materials are used to make monuments.

Today, marble, granite and bronze are the most commonly used materials.

There are several types of monument materials we use, they include:

  • Granite - This is, by far, the most popular monument material used in today's designs. Granite is a good choice for most monuments because it is durable and can tolerate any climate. It also comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Because of its dense nature, it is easy to achieve precision engravings.
  • Bronze - This monument material can be used on its own or as a placard on a stone base. This particular metal will not succumb to decay or rust making it a good choice for perpetual monuments.
  • Marble - You will find a range of colors and patterns in marble, much like granite. However, it's important to consider quality when choosing marble as it is not as durable as granite; some cemeteries may not allow marble monuments.
